    CIRCUS

    CIRCUS ARTS, NEWS AND MORE.

by Javier Urbina, "The Lord Of The Bubbles"

A masterful artistic performance could open to you the doors of the world,  the secret is to do well and always surprise the public. Many people start from the fact that anyone could stand on the street and "do something", but the magic is in doing it so well that your art transcends borders.

Clearly speaking, in the world many goals are achieved "by contact with acquaintances", but to achieve others it is necessary to start from scratch and follow the regular steps to obtain a great success.

    • Prepare an excellent presentation: as the saying goes, the practice is done by the teacher. If you really want to attract the attention of the public, you have to prepare a good act, which captures the attention and even, that gets to thrill. Your goal: Always BE THE BEST.

Many people prepare regular or normal acts, but if you want to succeed, your presentation must be exceptional and they will never forget you. You have to define very well what you will present to your audience.

    • Find a place of presentation: in the event that you are not part of a circus, place corners, squares and commercial areas that have a constant flow of people, because they are the best places for you to make your presentations. Take into account that in some places you can not make presentations for tourism or security reasons.

The street is a great, unique school, where you can learn a lot. You will have to deal with the lack of interest, indifference and non-recognition on the part of the majority, among other things. All this, although it may not seem like it, are great advantages that you can take advantage of to grow professionally.

    • You must configure your space: if you are a musician, you have to assemble your equipment; If you are a magician, have all the elements at hand. Maybe if someone is living the adventure with you it could serve as an assistant. Try to load with as little material as possible. Make it easy.

    • Record your performances: To be a true artist, it is not enough to say or feel it. You always have to demand yourself. One of the ways to do it is to see your own presentations, whatever the scenario may be. One tip is to record your entire act from beginning to end.

How to live in a circus?

Artists are people who are constantly traveling the world for a long time. The foregoing brings as a consequence, that they have to live with other people and many times they spend outside the home and away from the family.

As an artist you must learn to be "politically correct", to have the necessary maturity to have a healthy relationship with all the members of the team. Of course, nobody is a gold coin, to please everyone, but if you have to live with so many people at the same time, it is about keeping the peace as much as possible.

In the circus artists' environment, one must be very tolerant, flexible, humbly comply with the guidelines issued by directors and producers of spaces. You also have to be extremely conscious to adapt to each of the productions in which you work. Any artistic circus show has its own rules. Respect them.

    Last notes

As an artist I've participated in great projects that have given me the opportunity to show my art to many people around the world. The "Circo Atayde" in Mexico, one of my most recent works, has brought me great satisfaction. Despite spending 130 years entertaining the world, the "Circo Atayde Hnos" has a whole family behind that LOVES what it does and has had to reinvent itself now that animals have been banned in circuses. An example of constant struggle and, above all, LOVE to the profession.

Circo Atayde Hnos. 130 años de amor y circo.
